IF YOU...

used to sing and miss it...

always wanted to sing and never thought you could...

tried singing and were told you shouldn’t...

.... THIS COULD BE YOUR CHOIR!

Show Up and SING! events are opportunities to have fun, learn songs and sing with neighbors...where EVERYONE is WELCOME!  Songs will be taught in the aural tradition....no need to read music. Songs will be varied, attainable and foster group singing. There will be a focus on developing listening and singing skills, like breathing, pitch matching and harmonizing. There will be no requirement to perform.

INSTRUCTOR:  Linda Poindexter Chase brings a life time (since age 5) of singing and performing experience both as a professional and for personal interest, in the US and abroad.  Most recently, she completed the Community Choir Leadership Training (CCLT) program offered by the Ubuntu Choir Network, based in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The Choir Network believes in community singing and works to nurture and support all CCLT graduates, maintaining a platform by which all CCLT choir leaders (hundreds across across North America) are connected.

TUITION:  Donation to CAC, but please do register!

Wednesdays from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

September 26, October 17, 24, 31, November 14, 21, 28, December 12

important Church Tour Information

We will start at the Home Depot parking lot in Bernalillo at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31st, and we’ll return to the same spot Saturday early evening. We prefer three to a car to limit the total cars to 5, but there is some flexibility on that.

Lodging in Durango is open for you to choose wherever you want to stay. Places you might want to check include the Sleep Inn and the Comfort Inn, both of which are outside of downtown and more new than some of the others. We will gather together in the morning before heading out. Much of the tour will be on back country two lane roads that you might never have seen before; the roads are in excellent shape.

Your admission fee is refundable up until two weeks before the event, and still refundable after that date if we are able to fill your spot from people on the wait list. While the event is for members only, prospective new CAC members can join CAC and sign up for the event right up to the last minute, provided space is available.

The Aztec Frontier Museum is included in the tour. We’ll spend about 1 1/2 hours there. It’s a wonderful experience, with frontier buildings, cars, and memorabilia. A great spot for photographers. The admission fee is included in the $115 tour fee.
