This class will introduce Opera Southwest's fall production of Puccini's Tosca - on of the most popular operas of the 20th century.  this tale of love, lust, jealousy, and betrayal prompted Puccini to create heart wrenching arias and terrifying dramatic situations that continue to thrill audiences year after year.  

INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Julius Kaplan, PhD, is an art historian by training - with a specialty in modern art (1850 to present.)  Most of his career was at California State University, San Bernardino where he was Chair of the Art Department and then Dean of Graduate Studies and Research.   He and his wife are life-long opera fanatics, and retired to New Mexico to be near the Santa Fe Opera.
